Job Description

LA28 is the independent, non-profit, privately funded organizing committee responsible for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. As an organization, LA28 is dedicated to showcasing the vibrant culture, diversity, and spirit of Los Angeles and the United States by delivering an unparalleled Olympic and Paralympic experience. This marks the first time in 32 years that the Summer Games return to the U.S. and the third time Los Angeles has hosted the Olympic Games, with 2028 also being the first year it hosts the Paralympic Games. This unique opportunity positions LA28 as an influential leader in shaping the future of the Olympic and Paralympic Movements, building on a rich legacy while innovating for the future.\n\nLA28 operates with a core set of values including optimism, integrity, excellence, inclusion, co-creation, and boldness, all of which guide the organization’s efforts in creating a cohesive and vibrant Games environment. As a non-profit committee, LA28 focuses on leveraging private funding resources to create sustainable infrastructure and a memorable experience for athletes, fans, partners, and local communities.\n\nThe role of Senior Associate, Venue Look of the Games is critical to manifesting the visual identity and overall branding of the LA28 Games across all competition and non-competition venues. The successful candidate will play an integral part within the Look & Signage (LNS) team managing the planning, delivery, maintenance, and decommissioning of visual design elements, ensuring all components align with LA28’s comprehensive Games-wide branding strategy.\n\nIn this position, the Senior Associate will collaborate closely with various venue teams and cross-functional stakeholders including Brand, Sport, Venue Management, Venue Infrastructure, Broadcast, and Photo teams to tailor the venue-specific visual plans. The role includes adapting strategies based on emerging information and challenges, acting as the primary liaison between the central LNS team and the assigned venues, and managing risks and opportunities to ensure smooth execution and brand consistency. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Look of the Games, this position offers a unique blend of project management, creative execution, and on-site operational leadership during the Games.\n\nKey responsibilities include interpreting and applying the Look Kit of Parts within venues to maintain visual consistency with the LA28 brand, translating creative direction into concrete plans for venue design that enhance the experience for athletes and spectators. The Senior Associate will also provide valuable feedback regarding design feasibility and placement considering venue-specific constraints. Presenting these plans and championing the LA28 vision with various internal and external stakeholders is a continual aspect of the role.\n\nThe position demands seamless integration of visual elements into venue operations through close partnerships with venue teams, management of detailed scope documents, and active participation in readiness exercises and walkthroughs. Operationally, the Senior Associate will oversee the installation, upkeep, and removal of Look assets, supervising contractors and suppliers on-site to ensure quality and adherence to brand standards during Games-time. Acting as the face of the Look and Brand at venues, this person will resolve issues dynamically and coordinate cross-functionally to achieve optimal visibility and brand integrity.\n\nTo excel in this role, the candidate must exhibit strong communication and organizational abilities, project management expertise with experience handling complex, multi-stakeholder projects, and adaptability to dynamic event environments. A background in sports, entertainment, or cultural events is preferred. Proficiency with project tracking tools such as Excel or Smartsheet is expected. A bachelor’s degree in project management, sports marketing, or related fields is required.\n\nThis position is based onsite in Downtown Los Angeles, offering an annual base salary range of $73,000 to $95,000. LA28 does not provide relocation assistance. The role requires physical readiness to work in open office environments and venue settings, including standing, walking, and lifting light materials during event periods.\n\nLA28 is committed to equal employment opportunities and inclusivity, providing a harassment-free workplace and considering candidates of diverse backgrounds without bias. The committee supports fair hiring practices consistent with applicable laws and encourages qualified individuals from all perspectives to apply, focusing on skills, education, and experience relevant to the role.
