Oshkosh AeroTech, an Oshkosh company, is a prominent leader in the aviation ground support industry. With a strong heritage and reputation, Oshkosh AeroTech specializes in providing a wide range of aviation ground support products, gate equipment, and airport services tailored to commercial airlines, airports, air-freight carriers, ground handling companies, and military customers. The company is committed to delivering high-quality equipment and solutions that help enhance operational efficiency and safety in the air transportation sector. Oshkosh AeroTech manages many trusted and recognized brands such as LEKTRO®, JetAire®, JetPower®, AmpTekÔ, and Jetway®, which underscore their dedication to innovation and reliability in aviation ground support.
The Senior Assembler role at Oshkosh AeroTech is a key position within the manufacturing and production process. This role involves assembling intricate mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components to create industrial assemblies that meet strict product and customer specifications. The position requires the use of hand tools, powered tools, and specialized material handling equipment to ensure precision and quality throughout the assembly process. A Senior Assembler not only executes assembly tasks but also serves as a mentor and guide for other associates in the work center, driving improvements in processes, product design, and work center layout. The role demands a high level of mechanical aptitude, the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
A Senior Assembler contributes significantly to achieving the company’s goals by actively participating in daily management and team problem solving. Electrical connectivity tasks using prefabricated harnesses also fall under the assembler's duties. Moreover, this role requires self-inspection and quality checks to maintain high product standards.
Working cohesively in a diverse and multicultural environment is a vital aspect of this role. The Senior Assembler is expected to uphold the company’s core values, including prioritizing safety, acting with integrity, persevering through challenges, and valuing teamwork. Oshkosh AeroTech offers a supportive work environment that encourages employee growth, involvement in continuous improvement activities, and commitment to high safety and quality standards.
