As a global company, Sodexo is committed to creating a better everyday experience for its clients, employees, and the communities it serves. The company focuses on improving quality of life through exceptional service, innovation, and operational excellence. Sodexo prides itself on maintaining a culture that fosters diversity, inclusion, and respect, ensuring that all employees are valued and supported in a collaborative work environment.
The Senior Area Executive Chef role at Sodexo Campus Services offers a unique and exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced culinary professional to oversee and elevate culinary operations across approximately 30 higher education campuses, primarily in the Mid-Atlantic region, with additional responsibilities that may extend across the United States. This position plays a critical role in driving innovation, consistency, and excellence in all aspects of dining services, including resident dining, retail outlets, and catering operations. The Senior Area Executive Chef will work closely with both salaried management teams and hourly culinary staff, delivering hands-on leadership that ensures the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
This role requires a dynamic leader who can effectively manage multiple sites, implementing Sodexo's culinary foundations program while also adapting menu development to emerging trends and client preferences. The candidate will be an influential figure within the organization, making visible contributions through regular regional travel, estimated at 75%, to ensure direct support and collaboration across accounts. By maintaining strict compliance with HACCP standards and food safety regulations, this role guarantees a safe and consistent dining experience for all campus communities served.
The Senior Area Executive Chef will partner with District and Unit Executive Chefs to promote operational excellence, monitor food cost performance, manage production forecasting, and oversee inventory practices. The role's success is measured by its ability to standardize food quality and presentation, support culinary innovation initiatives, and lead culinary training efforts. By collaborating directly with client and Sodexo leadership, the Area Executive Chef ensures that culinary operations align with overarching client goals, reinforcing Sodexo’s commitment to delivering exceptional service.
This position is ideal for a culinary professional who values continuous improvement and is passionate about providing outstanding resident dining experiences. The opportunity to influence multiple campus environments and lead a talented culinary team within a reputable and supportive organization makes this role both rewarding and challenging. Sodexo offers a comprehensive benefits package and equitable compensation structure based on experience, education, skills, and training. The company supports career growth and development, providing resources such as tuition reimbursement and wellness programs to enhance employee well-being and professional advancement.
