The Senior Area Executive Chef role will be based supporting the Hackensack Meridian Health System in Central and North New Jersey. Hackensack Meridian Health is a prominent American network of healthcare providers headquartered in Edison, NJ, encompassing academic centers, acute care hospitals, and research institutions. This network aims to unify healthcare delivery across New Jersey, creating an integrated patient-focused experience. As part of Sodexo’s partnership, this position plays a critical role in overseeing culinary services across ten hospital locations within this network.
This leadership position demands an individual who can oversee comprehensive culinary operations including purchasing, menu compliance, inventory control, food cost analysis, and forecasting. The Senior Area Executive Chef will be charged with district support activities ranging from staff training and development to managing catering services and ensuring adherence to Sodexo culinary standards. Food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety compliance are fundamental responsibilities. The role requires expertise in automated food inventory and production management systems to streamline operations efficiently.

Job Duties
- oversee and support 10 hospitals
- be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production forecasting
- provide district support including training, catering, development of staff, and menu compliance
- ensure Sodexo Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented
- develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations
- ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance
- have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems
