The Tucson Convention Center, which includes the Tucson Arena, Linda Ronstadt Music Hall, and Leo Rich Theater, is seeking a skilled Senior Accounting Manager. This full-time role is vital for assisting in the development and implementation of financial management strategies, budgeting, forecasting, accounting, purchasing, and payroll in compliance with State and Federal laws and company policies. The Senior Accounting Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting and payroll for the Tucson Convention Center's facility and food and beverage operations. This leadership position requires collaboration with the Director of Finance in preparing financial statements and reports for both the Client and Legends Global Corporate, including monthly statements, annual budgets, and forecasts.
In this role, the Senior Accounting Manager plays a key part in maintaining the accuracy and credibility of the general ledger by monitoring activities, performing monthly reconciliations, and directing the maintenance of accounting records. The manager will analyze financial performance and cost analyses to recommend business-driven actions. Responsibilities also include conducting internal audits, preparing audit materials for external reviews, coordinating year-end fiscal reporting, managing compliance with management contracts, and liaising with risk management and insurance brokers. The role demands handling event settlements, artist cash advances, box office audits, and cash flow projections.
Additional duties encompass directing the installation and maintenance of accounting and payroll systems, overseeing bank reconciliations, bi-weekly payroll processing, and coordinating HR and payroll compliance with wage laws and union contracts. The Senior Accounting Manager will verify new hire paperwork, remit union payments, monitor unemployment claims, and represent finance in multiple critical administrative functions.
Candidates for this role should have a B.S. in Accounting or Finance, with at least 3-5 years of general accounting experience. Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, Word, and preferably experience with ADP or similar payroll systems is important. Knowledge of Sage software, GAAP, and strong supervisory, analytical, and communication skills are required. The position demands a professional attitude, high attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to work under limited supervision across varying hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The compensation includes a competitive salary reflective of experience and a comprehensive benefits package featuring medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and a 401k plan. This position is based in Tucson, AZ, and offers candidates the chance to join a distinguished team dedicated to excellence in live event management and financial leadership.
