This role of Self-Checkout Host at Sprouts Farmers Market is a part-time position with a pay range of $17.15 to $22.30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. You will initiate customer engagement by inviting shoppers to use self-checkout lanes, especially during busy times, and maintain a clean and organized checkout area. Additionally, you will keep informed about weekly promotions, product locations, and store events to help guide and support customers effectively.
This position requires excellent communication skills, dependability, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. You will need to be flexible with scheduling, including availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate. Physical demands include the ability to lift and carry products up to 30 pounds, move grocery carts requiring some force, and stand for extended periods. Job Requirements
- Be 18 years of age
- have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
- previous retail customer service or sales experience
- ability to operate front end equipment including register calculator and scanner
- ability to work flexible schedule including nights weekends and holidays
- ability to lift and carry products up to 30 pounds
- good communication skills
- dependable and reliable
- strong attention to detail and proficiency with numbers
Job Qualifications
- Be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
- previous experience in retail customer service or sales environment
- 1-2 years of cashier experience preferred
- positive attitude and ability to interact positively with customers
- ability to operate front end equipment including register calculator and scanner
- dependable and reliable with ability to work flexible schedule including nights weekends and holidays
- good communication skills and ability to take direction and work in a team environment
- ability to lift and carry products up to 30 pounds and move grocery carts requiring force up to 35 pounds
- strong attention to detail and proficiency with numbers proficient in cash handling and mathematical skills
Job Duties
- Oversee self-checkout units ensuring customer satisfaction through prompt and friendly service
- assist customers as they scan weigh bag and pay for items ensuring a smooth process
- serve multiple customers at once and anticipate issues before they occur
- answer questions and assist with scanning weighing and payment issues
- monitor scanning activity to ensure accuracy
- invite customers to use self-checkout lanes especially during busy times
- maintain clean and orderly self-checkout areas and execute related duties as assigned
- thank customers as they leave the self-checkout area
