Job Requirements
- Be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous experience in retail customer service or sales environment
- 1-2 years of cashier experience preferred
- Positive attitude with ability to interact with customers
- Ability to operate front end equipment such as register calculator scanner
- Dependability and reliability to work flexible schedule including nights weekends holidays
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Physical ability to lift carry up to 30 lbs for extended periods
- Ability to push grocery carts requiring up to 35 lbs force for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail with cash handling and math proficiency
Job Qualifications
- Be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous experience in retail customer service or sales environment with 1-2 years cashier experience preferred
- Have a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers
- Able to operate front end equipment including register calculator and scanner
- Dependable and reliable with ability to work flexible schedule including nights weekends and holidays
- Good communication skills and ability to take direction and participate in team environment
- Ability to lift carry product up to 30 lbs for a distance of up to 3 feet for up to 50 hours without assistance
- Ability to use both hands to move grocery carts requiring up to 35 lbs force for up to 50 hours
- Strong attention to detail and proficiency with cash handling and math skills
Job Duties
- Oversee self-checkout units ensuring customer satisfaction through prompt and friendly service
- Assist customers as they scan weigh bag and pay for their items ensuring a smooth process
- Serve multiple customers at once and anticipate issues before they occur
- Answer questions and assist with scanning weighing and payment issues
- Monitor scanning activity to ensure accuracy
- Invite customers to use self-checkout lanes especially if lines form
- Maintain knowledge of weekly ads promotions and events and direct customers to products
- Keep self-checkout areas clean orderly and execute related duties
- Thank customers as they leave the self-checkout area
