This particular role is for a Tactical Security Officer - Supervisor position located in Bakersfield, California. It is a full-time role with a set schedule of 40 hours per week, Tuesday through Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The position offers a competitive hourly wage of $24 per hour, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; a 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching; paid holidays; disability coverage; and life insurance. The Tactical Security Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of designated rail yards, facilities, and the surrounding property, including sensitive staging lanes and trailer areas. The candidate must possess the ability to read the environment accurately, anticipate risks promptly, and act decisively to mitigate threats.

The role demands high physical fitness, as officers will be on their feet patrolling the site using company vehicles and conducting detailed inspections of fences, gates, railcars, buildings, and access points. The supervisor is expected to deter various threats such as theft, vandalism, and unauthorized entries by maintaining a visible security presence at the site. Timely response to alarms and emergencies is vital, often requiring coordination with law enforcement and emergency services. Detailed reporting and documentation of all incidents and activities during shifts is a key duty to help ensure a secure environment and compliance with client safety protocols and federal regulations. Additionally, the supervisor must monitor and report hazardous conditions that might affect rail operations or employee safety, while executing vehicle inspections to ensure company vehicles are safe to use. Job Requirements

  • Be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • 3 years security supervisor experience
  • Provide documentation of high school diploma or GED
  • Be 21 years of age or older
  • Must have a valid CA driver's license
  • Have a state security license (BSIS Guard Card) and additional 32hr BSIS security trainings
  • Minimum 3 years as a vehicle patrol officer
  • Ability to operate a vehicle safely and responsibly
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
  • Physically fit and able to walk, stand, and drive for long periods

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to operate a vehicle safely and responsibly for extended periods
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
  • Physically fit and able to walk, stand, and drive for long periods
  • Security, military, or law enforcement experience is a plus
  • First aid certification is an advantage

Job Duties

  • Patrol designated rail yards, facilities, and surrounding property using a company vehicle focusing on staging lanes and trailer areas
  • Conduct perimeter checks and monitor access points to prevent unauthorized entry or trespassing
  • Inspect fences, gates, railcars, and buildings for signs of tampering, damage, or suspicious activity
  • Deter theft, vandalism, and criminal activity through a visible security presence
  • Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, and emergencies and coordinate with law enforcement or emergency services
  • Write detailed incident and activity reports logging observations and actions taken
  • Ensure compliance with client safety protocols, security policies, and federal regulations
  • Monitor and report hazardous conditions like spills or obstructions that may impact rail operations or employee safety
  • Perform vehicle inspections before and after use of company vehicles
  • Patrol sensitive areas to spot suspicious activity
  • Verify identities and control access to secure areas
  • React quickly to threats or incidents
  • Check the proper functioning of alarms and cameras
  • Document incidents and actions taken
  • Collaborate with law enforcement during serious incidents
  • Ensure the safety and protection of individuals and property
  • Foster a culture of servant leadership and employee engagement by modeling company core values and promoting high performance standards
