Job Description

Denali Universal Services (DUS) is a leading provider of comprehensive security solutions, dedicated to ensuring the safety and protection of people, property, and assets across various industries. Known for its commitment to excellence and customer service, DUS operates with professionalism, integrity, and a strong adherence to safety and regulatory standards. The company employs a diverse team of security professionals who are trained to manage complex security environments and provide a safe workplace for both employees and clients. DUS offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for career growth and professional development within the security industry.

The Security Sergeant role at Denali Universal Services is a vital supervisory position responsible for overseeing and coordinating a wide range of security services at assigned job sites. Reporting directly to the Security Captain, the Security Sergeant provides first-line supervision to security officers during shifts, issues duty and post assignments, and ensures that all required notifications are made promptly. This position blends hands-on security duties with administrative responsibilities, including writing detailed incident reports, maintaining shift journals, managing timekeeping, and assisting with personnel evaluations. The Security Sergeant also plays a critical role in recommending disciplinary actions or commendations based on officers' performance.

As a working supervisor, the Security Sergeant is an active security officer on the job site who directs or oversees responses to both emergency and non-emergency situations through efficient delegation to subordinates. This role demands strong leadership skills to ensure security services are delivered effectively and in strict compliance with contract specifications, company policies, post orders, applicable laws, regulations, and operational procedures. The nature of the duties may vary depending on the specific requirements of each job site, client expectations, and business needs.

The position operates on a rotational work schedule, typically one week on followed by one week off, offering a structured yet flexible environment suited for dedicated security professionals. Candidates for this role should be prepared to work in various physical environments, including confined spaces such as security posts or patrol vehicles, and must be capable of standing, walking, and performing physical activities as required. The job also entails managing safety programs, promoting a professional workplace culture, and being ready to provide backup support to fellow officers when necessary.

In summary, the Security Sergeant at DUS is more than just a security officer; the role embodies leadership, operational excellence, and a commitment to creating secure environments. The ideal candidate will bring a balance of tactical knowledge, supervisory skills, and administrative capability to contribute to the company's overarching mission of safety and customer service excellence.
