The role of Security Officer Reception Operations based in Wilmington, Delaware, represents a vital frontline position within Allied Universal's residential security sector. This full-time opportunity pays a competitive hourly rate of $17.00 and offers an engaging schedule focused on overnight shifts from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM, Monday through Saturday. The Officer will function as the primary point of contact for residents, visitors, and staff at a residential community, managing access control and responding promptly to any security concerns or incidents that may arise. Beyond enforcing access policies, this role demands exceptional customer service skills and professionalism to foster a safe and welcoming atmosphere. The Security Officer will utilize their vigilance and problem-solving abilities to monitor front desk operations, communicate effectively with both residents and management, and document all relevant occurrences to ensure ongoing safety.

Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles
  • 21+ years of age for armed roles
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Pass a background check in accordance with federal, state, and local laws
  • Submit to drug screening as permitted by law
  • Meet licensing requirements as applicable by state and local laws
  • Valid driver’s license for driving positions only

Job Qualifications

  • Customer service experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
  • Basic computer skills for logging and record-keeping
  • Familiarity with security protocols and emergency response procedures
  • Ability to work overnight shifts

Job Duties

  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents, visitors, and staff at the front desk
  • Carry out site-specific security-related procedures and policies
  • Monitor access by greeting visitors, verifying authorization, issuing visitor credentials, and maintaining visitor logs
  • Answer incoming calls, receive deliveries, provide directions, and communicate concerns to appropriate personnel
  • Respond to incidents and resident concerns calmly and professionally following emergency procedures
  • Monitor front desk activity and security systems, document relevant events, and report unusual activity to management
  • Maintain a professional and welcoming presence to ensure community safety
