Denali Universal Services is currently seeking Security Officers for the Marathon Refinery located in Anacortes, Washington. This role involves providing vigilant protection of the refinery’s premises, personnel, and assets through multiple security functions including access control, surveillance, and incident response. Security Officers operate under the direct supervision of the Security Captain or Sergeant and are critical in maintaining a safe and secure environment at this high-profile industrial site. The position demands a mature, highly responsible individual who can react swiftly and appropriately to potential security threats or emergencies.
The role offers a starting pay rate of $21.00 per hour, with opportunities to earn up to $25.30 per hour upon completion of additional training and qualifications. In addition, new hires are currently eligible for a $1,000 signing bonus as a part of an incentive to attract dedicated and skilled professionals. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license
- First Aid/CPR Certification or able to obtain
- Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) or able to obtain
- State of Washington Security Officer License or ability to obtain
- Ability to successfully complete training to become an armed Private Security Officer if desired to promote to an armed position
- Ability to speak, write, and comprehend English
- Maturity of judgement and behavior
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug test, criminal background check, and post-offer basic physical

Job Duties
- Comply with all company/client safety and risk management policies and procedures
- Guard property against damage, theft, and illegal or unauthorized entry
- Perform searches of people, vehicles, vessels, buildings, and large outdoor areas
- Operate a motor vehicle during both the day and night in a variety of settings and varying weather conditions
- Investigate suspicious persons, assess intentions, and take action as appropriate
- Report results of investigations in written form clearly and accurately
- Effectively and coherently communicate over radio channels
- Communicate clearly and professionally when interacting with people
- Use computers with common office related software
- Maintain composure and control during emergency situations
- Conduct visual surveillance for extended periods of time
