The role of an Armed Security Officer within CHRISTUS Health is pivotal in ensuring the safety and security of all patients, employees, visitors, and hospital assets. This position is full-time with multiple shifts available, offering flexibility in hours including the necessity to rotate between different facilities, sometimes involving travel. The role demands physical fitness, mental alertness, strong interpersonal communication, and the capability to make immediate and effective decisions in stressful situations. Armed Security Officers must comply with CHRISTUS Health’s uniform and dress code policy, ensuring a professional appearance at all times. The role also involves proficiency in various technologies such as CCTV monitoring, security radio systems, and digital reporting. Officers may encounter aggressive behavior and challenging situations, requiring skills in verbal de-escalation and defensive tactics. This position provides an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a healthcare environment dedicated to safety, compassion, and excellence. Candidates must be prepared to meet the required certifications and training stipulated by CHRISTUS Health and applicable state laws.
