The role of the part-time Security Officer at Blakehurst offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the safety and security of this vibrant senior living community. Working on a part-time schedule primarily every other Saturday and Sunday from 2 pm to 10 pm, this position is ideal for candidates seeking flexible hours while making a meaningful impact. Job Requirements
- Must be able to pass preemployment screening process including fitness for duty physical, criminal background check, drug test, and employment references
- vaccination status may be required for some roles as per licensed residential care facility guidelines
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or other related fields
- must be able to complete Maryland Guard Card Training and pass criminal background check
- familiarity with security equipment
- ability to handle physical workload
- valid driver’s license
- strong attention to detail
Job Duties
- Thoroughly examine doors, windows, and entrances to ensure proper function and security
- monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules
- report on any facility issues such as fire hazards and leaking water pipes
- respond to all fire alarms and apartment emergency calls
- perform light maintenance as time allows such as changing light bulbs, and similar assignments
- shovel and keep clear exit door walkways during and after snowstorms
