Job Description
Rosewood Miramar Beach is a prestigious ultra-luxury resort located in the picturesque Montecito community of Santa Barbara, California. Nestled along one of Southern California's most exclusive and beautiful beaches, this 16-acre residential-style estate is renowned for its exceptional service and elegant design, earning it the esteemed Forbes Five-Star status—a distinction held by only 15 properties worldwide. The resort offers 153 ultra-luxury guest rooms and suites, including beachfront accommodations, signature suites, and multi-bedroom bungalows designed to create unforgettable experiences for every visitor. Guests enjoy world-class amenities such as the Forbes Five-Star Sense, A Rosewood Spa, a modern fitness studio, two cabana-lined pools, and personalized beach service that elevates traditional luxury beachside hospitality.
Additionally, the resort features six unique dining venues, including a MICHELIN one-star and MICHELIN green star oceanfront restaurant, a traditional Japanese Edomae sushi venue, an al fresco beach bar, a sophisticated cocktail lounge, casual all-day dining, poolside dining, and a charming poolside ice cream shop serving classic American fare. The property also boasts versatile indoor and outdoor event spaces comprising approximately 28,000 square feet, highlighted by the grand Chandelier Ballroom with over 6,500 square feet and the Great Lawn offering sweeping ocean views. This setting makes Rosewood Miramar Beach an ideal venue for selective events and celebrations, all supported by attentive Estate-Style™ service tailored to the individual preferences of guests.
Owned by Caruso and managed by Rosewood Hotels and Resorts, Rosewood Miramar Beach represents the pinnacle of coastal luxury travel. Joining the team means becoming part of a world-class hospitality institution committed to delivering exceptional experiences to its discerning clientele.
The Security Manager role at Rosewood Miramar Beach is a key leadership position dedicated to safeguarding the safety and well-being of all guests, visitors, employees, and the property itself. Reporting to the Director of Security, the Security Manager plays an integral role in overseeing the daily operations of the Security Department. This includes managing and supervising security personnel, ensuring strict adherence to departmental policies and service standards, and maintaining an environment where safety protocols are consistently executed at the highest level.
The Security Manager is responsible for developing and conducting training and seminars necessary to keep the security team updated on best practices and evolving safety procedures. The role also involves active participation in the hotel's Crisis Management Team, helping design, implement, and regularly review safety policies and emergency response plans. Monitoring of facility equipment for potential hazards and managing emergency situations are critical aspects of the position. The Security Manager ensures that railroad tracks adjacent to the property are constantly monitored for safety, coordinating the safe passage of guests when trains approach and maintaining the operation of crossing gates around the clock.
This role requires exceptional organizational skills to prepare effective staffing schedules that align with labor standards and operational needs, maintain comprehensive incident and accident reporting, and foster high team morale by focusing on staff development and retention. The Security Manager leads monthly departmental meetings, promotes clear communication within the team, and administers control procedures for lost and found operations. The successful candidate will have experience in luxury or ultra-luxury property security management, demonstrating attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to resolve problems efficiently under pressure. Fluency in English is required, with additional language skills considered an asset.
This full-time permanent position offers a salary range of $75,000 to $80,000 with eligibility for bonuses, reflecting factors like experience, education, and hotel background. It represents an exceptional opportunity for a security professional to contribute to the safety and excellence of an iconic luxury resort while advancing their career within the renowned Rosewood Hotels and Resorts family.
