Job Description
Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa, is a captivating resort located in the beautiful state of Hawaii that combines Hawaiian culture with Disney storytelling to create a unique and magical guest experience. Known for its breathtaking ocean views, immersive activities, and exceptional service, Aulani offers a family-friendly environment that caters to visitors from around the world. As a part of the globally beloved Walt Disney Company, Aulani benefits from Disney's commitment to excellence, innovation, and diversity, providing a workplace where cast members are encouraged to grow both personally and professionally.
This particular opportunity is for the role of Security Host/Hostess within the resort. The position is designed to ensure a safe and secure environment for all guests, cast members, and vendors, enabling them to enjoy the magic of Disney without worry. The Security Host/Hostess plays an essential role in both protective and enforcement functions, acting as the first responder during emergencies and providing courteous, professional assistance while handling a wide range of situations including threats to life and property, disturbances, and undesired conduct.
Working at Aulani offers not only employment but an immersive experience in hospitality and safety management within a luxurious resort setting. The person in this role will be trained on infant, child, and adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), the use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED), Stop The Bleed training, and fire extinguisher procedures to be fully prepared for any emergency. Beyond emergency response, the Security Host/Hostess conducts resort foot patrols both inside and outside the property to identify any undesirable conditions and promptly respond to incidents.
The role involves evaluating various situations calmly and logically, maintaining order during emergencies such as fires or alarms, investigating incidents by interviewing witnesses and complainants, and collaborating with the appropriate personnel. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial, as well as strong technology skills to operate state-of-the-art security systems like CCTV and complex consoles used for monitoring and dispatching.
In addition to safety duties, the Security Host/Hostess supports resort operations by issuing contractor and visitor badges, providing key assistance, escorting guests and cast members, handling found property inquiries, and offering accurate information about resort services and hours. This multi-faceted position requires individuals who are self-directed, possess keen observation skills, and have a good sense of direction to efficiently navigate the resort layout, including emergency equipment locations.
Candidates who thrive in this position typically have prior first responder experience such as hotel or resort security, military basic training, loss prevention, or high-pressure roles such as emergency medical technicians or firefighters. The role demands full availability seven days a week, including early mornings, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays, ensuring the resort's security around the clock.
The hiring range for this position in Hawaii is $29.00 per hour, with full-time employment status. Benefits are comprehensive and include 100 percent healthcare coverage for eligible individuals and their dependents, tuition paid upfront at network schools, free lunch, free parking, and complimentary theme park admission among other perks. Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa, not only promises an enriching work environment steeped in Disney magic but also supports its cast members with a robust benefits package that fosters well-being and career advancement.
