The Customer Service Officer role at Harvard Protection Services is pivotal in upholding the mission of providing best-in-class security and life safety services. This role is centered around delivering professional and customer-focused security support to people and property, enhancing safety and fostering a secure environment. Officers act as the first point of contact for customers, visitors, employees, tenants, and guests, ensuring a welcoming and safe experience.

The position requires maintaining a visible presence in the assigned facility or building, monitoring for suspicious or unsafe activities, and managing access control by allowing authorized persons to enter while enforcing building policies. Interaction with visitors and staff is conducted with professionalism and respect, answering questions and providing assistance when needed. The role also involves monitoring incoming and outgoing traffic as well as conducting patrols on foot or using a vehicle, depending on the location and requirements.

Additionally, Customer Service Officers are responsible for observing personnel departures to prevent theft of company property and ensuring proper authorization during removal procedures. Officers must follow established emergency plans, monitor alarms and security systems, and thoroughly document incidents or irregular activities in reports. Variations in duties may occur depending on client location, underscoring the importance of adaptability and attention to detail.

This position demands strong communication skills, a neat and professional appearance, and proficiency in using security and communication devices. Candidates with previous experience in contract security, law enforcement, the military, or customer service are considered a valuable asset to the role. Officers must possess or be eligible to obtain state or municipality-mandated security licenses and have reliable transportation and communication means.

Job Requirements

  • minimum high school diploma ged or the equivalent
  • must have reliable means of communication and transportation
  • must have a security guard license or be able to obtain one within an acceptable period

Job Duties
