The role of Concierge / Security at The Poetry Parlor is integral to maintaining the welcoming, safe, and organized experience that defines this beloved space. This part-time position offers approximately 15 hours weekly, primarily during Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings, with compensation starting at $10 per hour plus tips, and the potential to earn up to $15 per hour. As the first point of contact for guests, the Concierge / Security team member serves as the friendly and professional face of the venue, ensuring that every visitor feels immediately welcomed and valued upon arrival.

This role goes beyond traditional security; while maintaining a secure environment is essential, the Concierge / Security also facilitates a smooth flow within the space by providing information about the Poetry Parlor, its services, and upcoming events. Key responsibilities include greeting guests warmly, answering their questions, handling admissions and tickets, processing payments for merchandise, and monitoring the entrance to uphold safety. The position calls for someone with a vigilant security mindset who is observant, confident, and able to enforce venue policies with respect and tact while prioritizing guest comfort.
