This position is a full-time, management role within the Loss Prevention and Security department, providing a competitive hourly wage ranging from $27.40 to $37.50, and is eligible for bonuses. The schedule involves overnight shifts, allowing you to play a crucial role during non-peak hours to maintain safety and security.
As the Security/Loss Prevention Manager at JW Marriott Tampa Water Street, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the Loss Prevention department. Your core mission will be to protect the property, guests, employees, and assets while ensuring compliance with legal and company standards. You will manage safety and security operations by conducting hazard assessments, maintaining detailed logs and records, enforcing policies such as random bag checks and key control, and ensuring all emergency and fire prevention procedures are implemented and followed. Additionally, you will assist in investigations related to incidents involving guests and employees, support accident prevention initiatives, and collaborate closely with local law enforcement and emergency services.
Your role also involves fostering a positive guest and employee experience by delivering exceptional customer service and resolving disputes effectively. You will hold quarterly meetings to coordinate safety efforts, develop action plans to mitigate risks, and maintain the integrity of the department through unannounced inspections. The position requires a strong emphasis on teamwork, communication, and assertive hospitality to deter crime and promote a safe environment. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 3 years experience in security or loss prevention
- OR Associate degree in Criminal Justice or related field
- 1 year experience in security or loss prevention
- Ability to work overnight shifts
- Strong attention to detail and integrity
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to handle conflict and resolve disputes professionally
- Familiarity with safety and legal compliance requirements
- Proficient in maintaining accurate documentation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 3 years of experience in security or loss prevention
- OR 2-year degree in Criminal Justice or related field with 1 year of experience
- Knowledge of fire prevention and emergency preparedness
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety audits
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to train and lead staff effectively
- Experience in conducting investigations and risk assessments
- Customer service orientation with ability to build rapport
- Proficiency in record keeping and documentation
Job Duties
- Manage daily functions of the Loss Prevention department to protect property and people
- Maintain logs, certifications, and documents as required by law and SOPs
- Train staff in emergency and accident prevention procedures
- Conduct hazard and risk assessments and compliance audits
- Ensure adherence to loss prevention guidelines including random bag checks and key control
- Investigate incidents related to guests and employees
- Provide exceptional customer service and resolve disputes
- Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services
- Hold quarterly and cluster meetings for department coordination
- Develop and implement action plans to control risk
- Perform unannounced spot checks to maintain department integrity
