Reporting directly to the SLP Cluster Manager, the SLP Expert is responsible for providing end-to-end S&LP services across assigned operational business units, ensuring the protection of Amazon's physical and intellectual assets. SLP Experts are not only tasked with monitoring systems and tools that highlight opportunities for improving security processes but are also essential contributors to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency. They act as the subject matter experts on security and crisis management, serving as a vital link between the S&LP department and site leadership by keeping them informed about key issues, strategies, and performance metrics. In this capacity, they collaborate closely with internal customers to assess current and future security needs, emergency response planning, and implementation of security best practices.

Travel up to 50% within domestic regions is required for this role, as SLP Experts support multiple sites within their designated area. The job also involves physical tasks such as lifting up to 49 pounds, frequent movement including pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and climbing stairs, and working in environments with varying noise levels and temperature conditions. The role supports 24/7 operations and requires the flexibility to work all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

A typical day for an SLP Expert involves performing regular physical security audits, investigating policy violations, and security-related loss events. They gather information through system monitoring, data analysis, and interviews, using these insights to drive improvement measures. They maintain the physical security infrastructure's health by collaborating with subject matter experts and external suppliers, addressing maintenance, and ensuring high service standards. The position is based in San Diego, California, with an annual base salary range of $70,400 to $86,700, complemented by sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
