Job Description
Springboard Hospitality is a premier third-party hotel management company with over 30 years of expertise in transforming lifestyle hotels across diverse locations, from the islands of Hawaii to the tip of Florida. The company has built a reputation for managing a wide portfolio of properties, distinguished by its dedication to innovation, community engagement, and authentic guest experiences. With a team composed of independent innovators, savvy storytellers, adventure-seekers, tech entrepreneurs, free-thinkers, and community leaders, Springboard Hospitality strives to create memorable moments and build strong human connections between guests and their environments. Their core values—Connected, Independent, Collaborative, Personalized, and Dynamic—reflect their commitment to technology, diversity, collaboration, guest personalization, and data-driven decision making.
Springboard emphasizes intentional culture and invests in training and career growth for hospitality professionals. The company supports work-life balance and career development, contributing to its outstanding retention rate, notably zero corporate turnover during the pandemic. Working with Springboard means joining a forward-thinking team dedicated to elevating hotel operations and guest experiences through empowered and involved employees. The company offers a flexible, collaborative work environment and a comprehensive benefits package for those working 20 hours a week or more.
As a Security Officer at Springboard Hospitality, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of guests, employees, and property at one of their hotel locations. Reporting directly to the Property Operations & Maintenance Director and working as part of the Security Department, you will conduct routine patrols of the entire property, including interior hallways, public areas, and parking lots. Your responsibility will be to perform protective and enforcement functions with professionalism and restraint, handling emergencies, disturbances, and threats while ensuring a safe environment.
The role requires familiarity with the hotel layout and emergency procedures to effectively monitor safety and manage life safety systems, including fire alarms and extinguishers. You will spend most of your shift on foot patrols, communicating via radios and pagers, and performing various supportive duties such as assisting guests, supporting the Night Auditor and Engineer on Duty, and occasionally performing housekeeping duties. You will also prepare detailed incident reports and routine patrol logs, participate in emergency training, and support special event teams as needed.
Ideal candidates possess prior experience (at least one full year) in a related position with a background in hospitality or security environments, hold a high school diploma or equivalent, and have valid California driver’s license. Certifications like a guard card and CPR/First Aid are preferred. Proficiency with computer software, including Microsoft Office and Opera, is an asset. Strong customer service skills, effective communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment are essential. Candidates should demonstrate discretion, organizational skills, and a commitment to teamwork. Travel may be required occasionally for hotel familiarization or company meetings. Core expectations include the ability to understand hotel operations, follow company policies and safety procedures, and contribute positively to the team and guest experience.
This position offers a competitive base salary and a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life and pet insurance, 401K, Costco membership, bereavement leave, and various bonuses and employee rate perks at over 35 hotels under Springboard’s management. Joining Springboard Hospitality as a Security Officer means becoming part of a vibrant culture that values personal growth, safety, innovation, and authentic guest experiences.
