Located in Chicago, IL, specifically in the Jefferson Park area, Switchcraft is committed to excellence and continuous improvement, positioning itself as a leader in the connector manufacturing industry. The company prides itself on its dedicated workforce and fostering a collaborative work environment where innovation and quality are paramount.
Switchcraft is currently seeking Assemblers to join their team on the second shift, which runs from 3:30 pm to 12:00 am. This hourly role offers a competitive wage of $17.60 per hour. Assemblers at Switchcraft play a vital role in the production process by working with table top presses and hand tools to assemble small electronic components. The role demands a high level of precision and attention to detail, as well as the ability to follow instructions accurately from group leaders and supervisors. Although the work involves technical assembly, candidates must possess basic reading and math skills to ensure all quality and production standards are maintained.
The assembler position at Switchcraft is ideal for individuals who thrive in both independent and team-oriented settings. The job focuses on assembling various types of switches and controls, such as plugs to patch cords, resistors and capacitors to circuit boards, and multiple switch types including PL switches, level lite III switches, multi switches, and DW switches. Precision tasks such as inserting contactors and compression springs using fixtures, attaching clips, and snap-fitting push buttons require steady hands and strong gripping capabilities.
Candidates must be comfortable remaining in a stationary, generally seated position for over 50% of the shift and must be able to lift up to 40 pounds when necessary. This position offers significant opportunities for skill development in electronic assembly and quality control procedures, making it a valuable entry point for those interested in manufacturing careers. In addition to a competitive wage, Switchcraft provides a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well-being and financial security of their employees.
