Warner Bros. Studio Operations is seeking a 2nd Cook to join the Food Services department. This role plays a crucial part in supporting food preparation and service for the Commissary and Special Events. The position involves preparing, cooking, and serving food in a high-volume setting, requiring efficiency, attention to detail, and strict adherence to health and safety standards. As a 2nd Cook, you will assist at food stations, maintain cleanliness and organization, and properly close and sanitize work areas. The role also involves supporting and following instructions from First Cooks, ensuring smooth kitchen operations and an excellent dining experience for all guests and staff. A valid ServSAFE Food Handling Certificate is required, underscoring the commitment to food safety and kitchen cleanliness. This position demands physical stamina as it involves standing for long periods, lifting, bending, and maneuvering heavy kitchen equipment. The work schedule is flexible and may include weekends, holidays, and shifts beyond the typical eight hours per day. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 to 5 years relevant cooking experience
- Valid ServSAFE Food Handling Certificate
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Physical capability to perform kitchen duties requiring standing, lifting, bending, and carrying up to 50+ lbs
- Strong adherence to food safety and sanitation protocols
- Good verbal communication skills
Job Qualifications
- 2 to 5 years cooking experience in a high-volume banquet facility, hotel/conference center, or fine dining restaurant
- Demonstrated ability to prep a grill, sauté, cook, and prepare sauces in a fast-paced environment
- Valid ServSAFE Food Handling Certificate
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift and carry heavy items up to 50+ lbs
Job Duties
- Prepare, cook, and serve food for the Food Services department including Commissary and Special Events
- Assist at stations in the Commissary, ensuring a clean, sanitized, and organized workspace
- Support and follow instructions from First Cooks
- Properly close, wrap, label, and clean work areas in accordance with Food Services and health department protocols
- Maintain compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
- Handle physical tasks including lifting and maneuvering heavy items up to 50+ lbs
- Work flexible hours including some weekends and holidays
