This seasonal position is ideal for performers such as musicians, dancers, actors, puppeteers, and costumed characters who are passionate about delivering joyful and unforgettable experiences to guests from around the world. The recruitment process includes auditions held at the SeaWorld Human Resources office, where candidates are evaluated based on their performance skills specific to each role—whether it be showcasing musical technique, dance choreography, comedic acting, puppeteering, or engaging movement for costumed roles. Audition applicants must be at least 16 years old and have parental consent if under the age of 18.

The role of an Ambassador is multi-faceted requiring not only exceptional performance skills but also dedication to maintaining the quality and integrity of shows. Ambassadors perform scheduled shows and acts, participate in daily warm-ups to prevent injury, and consistently develop their craft to uphold high production standards. In addition to performing, team members assist in maintaining costume and show props, collaborate with cast and crew, and ensure a professional and positive atmosphere for both guests and colleagues. Flexibility is critical, as performers need to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including evenings, weekends, and holidays throughout the summer season.

Job Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old
High school diploma GED or be in the process of obtaining one
Must demonstrate ability to perform in casted role during the try out process
Must be able to work outdoors during evening hours
Must be available for all rehearsal and performance dates
Previous performance in community school extra curricular activities
Communication and public relations skills
Must be able to multitask while maintaining a positive attitude to ensure excellent guest service
Provide excellent service to guests and team members
Must be able to stand walk and work for prolonged periods of time in extreme weather conditions
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to include weekdays weekends evenings and holidays
Consistently practices safe work habits including but not limited to the use of personal protective equipment lifting and reporting of unsafe situations
Must be willing to comply with and ensure team members comply with all SEA grooming guidelines and employment standards
Must be able to successfully complete all legal company and department training requirements to include but not limited to passing required tests and certifications within established timelines

Job Duties

Performs show act in assigned area according to show schedules
Performs daily warm up on individual basis to insure performance without injury
Develops skills knowledge to maintain excellent quality show appearance
Follows through on show notes to insure progress in specific areas
Maintain personal appearance by meeting costume and make up requirements
Assist in general cleaning of specified areas
Assist in the daily operational aspects of assigned show reporting prop costume repairs in a timely manner
Works with cast crew and management to maintain the integrity of the show
Consistently demonstrates courteous and professional behavior in all work aspects with all team members and guests
Works as part of a team to increase productivity and while providing excellent guest service
Maintains a professional appearance that meets grooming standards
