The Tasting Room Host position at Cline Cellars is a seasonal, part-time role that plays a crucial part in delivering outstanding front-line guest service. This role is essential in creating an inviting atmosphere for guests, offering wine tastings, tours, and engaging education about the winery’s products and sustainable farming ethos. The host is a gateway for guests to form a connection with the Cline Cellars brand, promoting sales and strengthening wine club memberships through excellent interpersonal skills. Working with the POS system and handling sales transactions are fundamental aspects of the role, along with managing merchandise and promoting sister properties such as The Olive Press and Jacuzzi Family Vineyards.

Beyond just serving wine, the Tasting Room Host is expected to maintain the overall organization and upkeep of the tasting room, ensuring it is stocked and welcoming. This role demands a passion for wine, a solid knowledge base that can be continually expanded, and the flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and some evenings. The position requires standing and active engagement throughout the shift, making it ideal for individuals enthusiastic about hospitality and eager to deliver top-tier service. Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • RBS and food handler's certification required or ability to obtain certification
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
  • Exemplary customer service skills
  • Prior hospitality, winery, or front of house restaurant experience
  • Previous experience with POS, Commerce 7, bLoyal, Tock a plus
  • Retail sales experience
  • Ability to stand and actively work for the full shift
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays and occasional evenings

Job Duties

  • Set-up and host wine tastings and tours for guests
  • Open, close and operate cash registers and POS systems
  • Sell wine, merchandise and wine club memberships to meet or exceed monthly sales targets
  • Provide service and hospitality that exceeds our guest's expectations
  • Ability to cross sell and promote The Olive Press and Jacuzzi Family Vineyards
  • Be informed on local hospitality offerings and make recommendations to guests
  • Maintain the tasting room including organization, inventory, and stocking supplies
