The role of Utility Steward at Hilton is crucial in maintaining the smooth operational flow of the hotel’s food and beverage services. This position is focused on supporting the culinary and event teams by ensuring all cooking utensils, serviceware, and related equipment are cleaned, polished, and correctly prepared for use. As a Utility Steward, you will be instrumental in the hotel’s ongoing efforts to provide outstanding guest service and uphold financial profitability through efficient and thorough stewardship practices. Your responsibilities will include washing dishes, operating dishwashing machinery, scrubbing pots and pans, and polishing silverware to the highest standards. Additionally, you will be tasked with maintaining stock and equipment, performing cleaning duties such as mopping and trash removal, and transporting and storing clean serviceware appropriately. In some instances, you will also have the opportunity to train new stewards, sharing your expertise and helping to maintain team quality and productivity.

This is an hourly position offering a wage of $17.50, which may vary based on specialized experience and geographic location. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in a similar role preferred
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • physical ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods
  • adherence to safety and hygiene regulations

Job Qualifications

  • experience in hospitality or food service environment preferred
  • ability to operate dishwashing equipment
  • strong attention to detail
  • good communication skills
  • ability to work in a team environment
  • physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks

Job Duties

  • wash dishes and operate the dishwasher to clean all chinaware, silverware and cooking utensils
  • scrub pots and pans
  • burnish, de-tarnish and polish silver
  • stock and maintain supplies and equipment
  • perform cleaning duties including, but not limited to, mopping and removing trash
  • transport and store clean serviceware
  • train other stewards, as needed
  • prepare and place clean serviceware for events and functions
