This Seasonal Event Operations Coordinator role is designed for a highly motivated individual who will play a crucial part in the seamless execution of all special events and leisure experiences at Gaylord Pacific Resort during the active summer season from June 2 - August 21, 2026. This full-time, non-management position offers a competitive pay rate of $28.00 per hour. The primary responsibility of the coordinator is to assist in the coordination and oversight of special events such as ICE!, Best of Florida Christmas, and SummerFest, ensuring all event aspects meet the operational standards required for a superior guest experience. The role involves a detail-oriented approach to monitor lighting, audiovisual setups, cleanliness, and system operations, while addressing any aesthetic or operational deficiencies promptly.
The Event Operations Coordinator supports event management by following training guidelines and assisting both the event manager and assistant managers. This position includes the supervision and training of special event staff to maintain high standards. The incumbent will learn to operate various event software systems covering ticketing, retail sales, inventory control, and space utilization, ensuring events run smoothly and efficiently. Strong problem-solving capabilities are essential to resolve financial or inventory discrepancies.
Employees in this role must adhere to all company policies and procedures, report any workplace accidents or unsafe conditions, maintain a professional appearance, and protect company property and confidential information. The position requires active guest engagement in alignment with Gaylord's standards, anticipating and fulfilling guest service needs with sincerity and professionalism. Clear and professional communication with colleagues and guests, proper telephone etiquette, and the ability to foster positive working relationships within a team environment are vital elements of the role.
Physical demands include the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods during shifts and safely lift, move, or place objects weighing up to 25 pounds unassisted. The position entails performing other reasonable assigned duties as required.
