Hotel Indigo, one of Columbia Hospitality’s distinct properties, offers an exceptional setting with 142 guest rooms, more than 8,000 square feet of event space, and a vibrant Jetty Bar & Grille that serves a seafood menu inspired by the Pacific Northwest. The hotel also features an indoor swimming pool and is integrally located within the Port of Everett’s Waterfront Place redevelopment area, surrounded by parks, restaurants, docks, and housing. The Seasonal Server role at Hotel Indigo is a vital frontline position where the employee is responsible for creating unmatched experiences for guests by delivering attentive, friendly, and efficient service. This is a seasonal role for the summer months, offering an hourly pay rate of $20.77 with eligibility for tips and tip pooling. The Seasonal Server is responsible for engaging guests by skillfully explaining menu offerings, handling food and beverage orders, ensuring accurate entry in the Point of Sale system, and complying with health and safety standards including serving temperatures. They must maintain a clean and organized work environment and promote upselling opportunities to enhance the guest experience. This role demands excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a friendly demeanor to represent the Hotel Indigo and Columbia Hospitality brand positively. Given the seasonal nature of this job, having open availability on weekends and holidays is essential.   • Previous experience as a server in a similar restaurant environment
  • ability to perform essential functions on the computerized Point of Sale system
  • working knowledge of dining and beverage service procedures
  • working knowledge of applicable liquor laws and regulations
  • possession of necessary State Food Handler's License(s) and Liquor Serving Permit(s)
  • open availability including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Take orders and serve food and beverage items to guests in accordance with standards
  • enter orders into computerized Point of Sale system and communicate special requests to the culinary team
  • assemble food items such as appetizers, salads, and soups
  • ensure attractive and consistent presentation of food and beverages
  • serve food and beverages at correct temperatures
  • maintain current knowledge of food and beverage offerings including menu changes and sold-out items
  • process guest payments using proper accounting and cash handling procedures
  • keep work and guest dining areas clean and organized
