Job Description
Marriott International, a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, is renowned for its commitment to excellence and exceptional guest experiences. Among its diverse portfolio of brands, the Autograph Collection stands out as a unique assembly of four and five-star independent hotels, each curated to offer guests distinctive and memorable stays. These hotels are distinguished by their quality, originality, and bold character, crafted to cater to travelers who seek personalized experiences that resonate with their individual style and sense of adventure. Whether for leisure or business, guests choose Autograph Collection properties because each hotel delivers more than a place to rest—it contributes meaningfully to their personal narrative as The Individualist, Marriott’s target consumer who values uniqueness and authenticity in travel.
Joining the Autograph Collection means becoming part of a vibrant and dynamic team within Marriott International. The brand prides itself on fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment where associates from diverse backgrounds can thrive and grow professionally. Marriott is committed to equal opportunity employment, ensuring that every team member is valued and respected, with access to opportunities for development and success. This dedication to a positive culture is foundational to delivering outstanding service and maintaining the high standards expected by discerning guests worldwide.
The role of a Food and Beverage Server within the Autograph Collection is integral to the guest experience, serving as the primary point of contact for food service and beverage delivery. This position involves more than simply serving courses; it requires attentiveness, professionalism, and a thorough understanding of menu offerings to assist guests in making informed dining choices. Food and Beverage Servers are responsible for setting tables appropriately based on the type of event or service standards, communicating effectively with kitchen staff about menu questions, wait times, special requests, dietary restrictions, and allergy concerns to ensure guests receive a safe and enjoyable dining experience.
Additional key responsibilities include utilizing the MICROS point-of-sale system to record transactions accurately, checking in with guests to confirm satisfaction with their meals and beverages, maintaining cleanliness of work areas, and completing closing duties such as restocking and securing the workspace. Servers are expected to uphold Marriott’s safety and security policies, maintain a professional appearance, and protect proprietary company information and assets. Exceptional interpersonal skills are crucial as Servers welcome guests warmly, anticipate and meet their needs, and express genuine appreciation for their patronage.
Physical demands of the role include standing or walking for extended periods, lifting and moving objects of varying weights (up to 50 pounds with assistance), and performing movements such as bending, twisting, and stooping. These activities require good physical stamina and coordination. Food and Beverage Servers at Marriott International also play a vital role in teamwork, supporting colleagues to achieve shared goals and cultivating positive workplace relationships.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality to join a prestigious global brand and contribute to creating exceptional service experiences. Prospective candidates should have at least one year of related work experience and a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Previous supervisory experience or specific licenses are not required, making this an accessible role for those aspiring to build a career in the hospitality sector. Marriott International’s Autograph Collection invites you to bring your unique talents to a place where you can do your best work, begin your purpose, belong to an inspiring global team, and become the best version of yourself.
