Job Description

Music & Arts is the nation's leading partner in K-12 music education, dedicated to fostering creativity and helping students discover the joy of playing musical instruments. Established in 1952, Music & Arts has evolved from a small local business in Bethesda, Maryland, into a nationwide organization with over 225 retail stores, 200 educational representatives, and more than 250 affiliate locations. As part of the Guitar Center enterprise and headquartered in Frederick, Maryland, the company continues to expand its reach and impact in the music education community, offering a comprehensive range of services from instrument rentals to music lessons and support for school music programs.

As a seasonal Rental Event Support Specialist at Music & Arts, you will play an integral role in bringing school instrument rental events to life in your local area. Working closely with Education Account Managers, you will assist with all the operational aspects of these events, including setting up and breaking down rental event spaces, preparing necessary documentation, and managing inventory. Your responsibilities will also involve direct interaction with parents and students, guiding them through the rental process, answering questions, and helping them select the appropriate instruments and supplies. Your ability to use mobile and tablet tools to process rentals swiftly and accurately is essential to delivering a seamless experience for families.

This role demands excellent communication skills, a flexible schedule that may include evening hours, and the physical capability to lift and move instruments and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds. You'll need a valid driver's license and automotive insurance to travel between prep locations, which may include warehouses, storage facilities, or retail stores, and the schools hosting the rental events.

The position offers an excellent opportunity to engage with the community and contribute to music education by supporting the next generation of musicians. While no advanced musical knowledge is required, a preference is given to candidates with an intermediate familiarity with band and orchestral instruments. This role is an excellent fit for individuals who are organized, detail-oriented, personable, and passionate about supporting the arts and education. Music & Arts values diversity, inclusion, and the growth of its team members, offering a collaborative work environment where respect and integrity guide all interactions.

If you are eager to join a company that is committed to enriching the educational experience of young musicians and want to be part of a dynamic team dedicated to making music accessible, this seasonal position at Music & Arts is an exciting and rewarding opportunity. Apply today by submitting your resume and cover letter along with your salary expectations. Music & Arts is an Equal Opportunity Employer and provides accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities to ensure fair access to employment opportunities.
