Job Description
Music & Arts is the nation's leading partner in K-12 music education, dedicated to fostering a love for music in children and supporting educators and families across the country. Established in 1952, the company has grown from a small local business in Bethesda, MD to a national leader with over 225 retail stores, 200 educational representatives, and 250 affiliate locations. Music & Arts offers a wide range of musical instruments, lessons, and rentals that empower students and musicians of all levels to discover and nurture their musical talents. As part of the Guitar Center enterprise, the company continues to innovate and expand its reach, making quality music education accessible to more communities nationwide.
This seasonal role at Music & Arts offers a unique opportunity to be directly involved in the orchestration of school instrument rental events, bringing excitement and ease to families preparing for their child’s music journey. Working closely with Education Account Managers, you will play a key role in the preparation, setup, and execution of rental events in your local area. The position requires hands-on involvement, from loading and unloading equipment to engaging warmly with parents and students during the rental process. You'll assist families in selecting the right instruments and complete rental agreements efficiently using mobile and tablet technology. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in dynamic environments, interacting with the public, and contributing to the growth of young musicians.
Beyond the logistical tasks, this job is about being a friendly and informed face that supports the enjoyment and accessibility of music education. The ability to communicate clearly and professionally with a diverse group of stakeholders, including school staff, families, and your teammates, is essential. Your work will require travel between assigned preparation locations such as warehouses, storage facilities, or retail stores, and the schools where events are held. Flexibility in working hours, including evenings, is necessary to accommodate school schedules and event needs.
Music & Arts seeks individuals with a high school diploma or equivalent who have proficiency in common office software like Outlook, Excel, and Word. A valid driver’s license and automotive insurance are required, as well as the physical capability to move and lift up to 50 pounds. Experience with musical instruments, especially at an intermediate level of band and orchestral instruments, is preferred but not mandatory. This role offers a meaningful chance to join a company dedicated to creativity, education, and customer service excellence while gaining valuable experience in event coordination, customer engagement, and sales support within the music education sector.
