Job Description
Music & Arts is the nation’s leading partner in K-12 music education, committed to enriching the lives of students and educators through music. Established in 1952 in Bethesda, MD, it began as a small business offering printed music, music lessons, dance lessons, and art supplies. Over time, the company focused exclusively on music, evolving into the largest band and orchestra instrument retailer in the United States. Today, Music & Arts operates over 225 retail stores, employs more than 200 educational representatives, and supports more than 250 affiliate locations nationwide. As part of the Guitar Center enterprise, the company embodies creativity and passion for music while maintaining a customer-first philosophy, emphasizing respect, integrity, and enthusiasm.
This seasonal role is designed to bring school instrument rental events to life across the assigned area. Working closely with Education Account Managers, you will play a critical role in setting up, preparing for, and executing these community-focused events. Your responsibilities will include setting up tables, signage, and event layouts, managing inventory and paperwork, and welcoming families as they begin their musical journeys. You will directly assist parents and students, helping answer their questions and guiding them in selecting suitable rental instruments. The role requires using simple mobile and tablet technology to complete rental agreements efficiently.
This position demands excellent communication skills as you will interact with Education Account Managers, teammates, parents, students, and occasionally school staff. Mobility is key, as you will need to travel between prep locations such as warehouses, storage facilities, or retail stores and the school event sites within your marketplace. The job requires the physical ability to lift and move instruments and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds and the flexibility to work evening hours during events. The opportunity provides a dynamic, customer-facing environment that combines passion for music with community engagement, ideal for individuals who enjoy helping others explore music education.
