Lowe's Companies, Inc. (NYSE: LOW) stands as a prominent powerhouse in the home improvement retail sector, proudly ranking as a FORTUNE 100 company. With a staggering fiscal 2025 sales revenue exceeding $86 billion, Lowe's has firmly established its dominance through an expansive network of over 1,750 home improvement stores, accompanied by 540 branches and 120 distribution centers across the United States. Headquartered in Mooresville, North Carolina, Lowe's employs approximately 300,000 associates worldwide, fostering a dynamic and inclusive work environment. The company dedicates significant resources to community support, focusing on initiatives aimed at creating safe and affordable housing, enhancing public community spaces, cultivating skilled trade experts for the future, and providing disaster relief assistance where needed. This strong community-centric ethos aligns with Lowe's commitment to corporate social responsibility and sustainability.
Lowe's is deeply committed to equal employment opportunity, ensuring all personnel practices are administered without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, gender, age, ancestry, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, veteran status, genetic information, or any other legally protected category. Employment with Lowe's reflects these inclusive values, offering equal opportunity across the board.
The role at Lowe's is an entry-level position focused on delivering outstanding customer service that consistently meets the company's high standards. The ideal candidate will embody Lowe's SMART customer service principles by engaging with customers actively and knowledgeably, seeking to understand their needs and providing assistance throughout their shopping experience. This involves helping customers locate, select, demonstrate, carry, or load merchandise, and providing detailed information about products, warranties, special order items, features, and benefits tied closely to Lowe's proprietary programs.
The position also involves responsibilities related to equipment rentals and tool repairs within the Tool Rental Department, including handling contracts and invoices. Employees are encouraged to cross-train in other store areas to deliver comprehensive customer service while maintaining store safety and cleanliness. Safety procedures are paramount, and employees are expected to participate in daily safety checks, recognize hazards, secure aisles and entrances, and adhere strictly to all safety protocols, including appropriate handling of equipment and tools.
Operating various store equipment forms part of the role, ranging from point-of-sale tools like Zebra phones and paging systems to specialized equipment such as paint mixers, panel saws, flooring cutters, and CCTV surveillance systems. Vigilance against security risks including shoplifting and theft is integral, with prompt reporting to management or Asset Protection.
Compensation for this position ranges from $15.00 to $15.60 per hour, with starting pay influenced by factors such as location, education, training, and experience. Lowe's offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support diverse lifestyles and career growth, including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, tuition assistance, parental leave, and an employee discount program. The company also provides educational support and wellness programs to foster continuous development, helping employees advance their skills and achieve personal and professional goals.
