As part of the global hospitality brand Hyatt, The Thompson Seattle benefits from an esteemed reputation and a progressive work environment centered around employee growth and a positive work culture.
We are currently seeking a dedicated part-time PM cook to join our culinary team. This role is pivotal in supporting our afternoon and evening service operations, particularly dinner service. The part-time PM cook will be responsible for a variety of kitchen tasks including efficient prep work, expertly handling line cooking duties, and assisting wherever necessary to maintain smooth kitchen operations. The ideal candidate must be a responsible, motivated team player who can manage their workstation independently, ensure open and effective communication with colleagues, and bring enthusiasm and a positive attitude to the kitchen every day.
This position reports directly to the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, offering a unique opportunity for culinary professionals to develop their skills within a fast-paced and high-standard kitchen environment. The shifts primarily focus on evenings and weekends, which demands adaptability and a strong work ethic. The successful candidate will thrive under pressure, demonstrate an ability to manage multiple tickets during service rushes, and maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in line with health regulations.
In addition to culinary expertise, the role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Candidates with prior experience in PM line cooking and preparation are preferred. The Thompson Seattle values associates who wish to grow professionally and actively contribute to a kitchen culture that supports innovation, respect, and employee development.
Hyatt, as the parent company, prides itself on hiring associates who deliver efficient service and meaningful guest experiences. Working at The Thompson Seattle offers not only a competitive hourly wage starting at $28.16 with periodic raises based on tenure but also comprehensive benefits for full-time team members. This includes medical, dental, and vision insurance eligibility after 30 days, retirement savings plans, paid time off, and various leave options that cater to the needs of every associate.
The employment opportunity extends to individuals who are passionate about culinary arts and are seeking a rewarding career with Hyatt's esteemed brand. Candidates will find a supportive environment focused on career advancement and enrichment. The Thompson Seattle encourages all qualified candidates to apply without discrimination, fostering an inclusive workplace where diversity is celebrated. If you are ready to join a dynamic team that values your dedication and craftsmanship, then The Thompson Seattle is the perfect place for you to build your culinary career.
