Job Description

Marriott International is a globally renowned hospitality company that operates a wide range of hotels and lodging facilities worldwide. Known for its commitment to quality service and maintaining high standards of hospitality, Marriott provides guests with memorable and unique experiences far beyond just food and beverage services. Within Marriott's portfolio lies Gaylord Hotels, a brand that offers extraordinary environments, services, and programs designed to unite people through memorable meetings and experiences. Located in Chula Vista, California, the Gaylord Hotel at 1000 H St is currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated part-time Food and Beverage Service Experts to join their team.

This role, classified as Non-Management and offering a competitive hourly wage of $16.90 with tip eligibility, is ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and appreciate the importance of delivering excellent guest experiences. This position emphasizes the importance of creating a welcoming and memorable ambiance for guests, not only through food and drink but through thoughtful, proactive guest interaction and attentive service. The Food and Beverage Service Experts at Gaylord are integral in ensuring every guest’s dining experience is seamless, enjoyable, and unique.

A typical day in this role involves setting tables, communicating effectively with the kitchen staff, personally serving guests, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of work and storage areas. These duties require physical stamina, including standing, walking on varied surfaces, lifting and moving objects under 50 pounds, bending, stretching, and other movements that ensure the smooth operational flow within the hotel’s food and beverage areas. Beyond the physical requirements, employees are expected to uphold Marriott's rigorous standards of appearance, professionalism, and workplace safety guidelines.

The ideal candidate for this position will be someone who not only meets the baseline qualifications but who also embodies Marriott’s values of diversity and inclusion. Marriott International is committed to providing equal employment opportunities, encouraging a workplace that celebrates the diverse backgrounds and experiences of its associates. The company fosters a culture where all employees feel welcomed and valued, with no discrimination based on disability, veteran status, or other legally protected characteristics. Moreover, Marriott adheres to fair hiring practices, including considerations for applicants with criminal histories in accordance with relevant laws.

Joining Gaylord Hotels means becoming part of a brand that offers more than a traditional hotel experience. Employees, affectionately known as STARs, are seen as creative, entrepreneurial individuals passionate about delivering heartfelt and thoughtful service. Working at Gaylord Hotels presents endless opportunities for professional growth, unique employment benefits, and the chance to be part of a global team dedicated to excellence in hospitality. This role is perfect for individuals looking to kickstart their careers in food and beverage within an esteemed international hotel group while gaining valuable experience in a supportive and empowering environment.

By starting your journey with Marriott International and Gaylord Hotels, you will be where you can perform your best work, fulfill your purpose, join an incredible global team, and become the best version of yourself.
