The company prides itself on offering memorable experiences paired with high-quality customer service in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
The role available is for a Line Cook I/II at the Timberline Bar & Grill restaurant, located on site at the Goldbelt Tram. This position is integral to maintaining the exceptional dining experience that complements the overall visitor experience. The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and presenting all food products according to menu specifications, ensuring freshness, quality, and appealing presentation that aligns with the restaurant's standards. Employees in this role will benefit from comprehensive training and can look forward to both part-time and full-time opportunities, making this position flexible to accommodate various schedules.
Applicants should be aware that the job is based in Juneau, Alaska, and candidates are asked to either already reside in Juneau or be willing to relocate at their own expense. This is a seasonal position offering competitive rates that start at $17.00 per hour for Line Cook I and up to $20.00 per hour for Line Cook II, dependent on experience. Additionally, employees are eligible for the Seasonal Employee Layoff Bonus Plan, an initiative designed to motivate and reward seasonal workers for their commitment. On occasion, discretionary performance bonuses may be granted to recognize exceptional contributions, highlighting Goldbelt Inc.'s focus on employee retention and engagement.
The Line Cook role goes beyond simple food preparation. It demands attention to detail, multitasking skills, and a commitment to maintaining high sanitation and hygiene standards. Employees will receive guidance and support to develop their culinary skills, with an emphasis on teamwork and efficiency in a fast-paced environment. The position also includes responsibilities such as assisting in kitchen cleanliness, preparing for health inspections, and potentially training other kitchen staff. By fostering a culture of mutual support and continuous learning, the Goldbelt Tram ensures that the Timberline Bar & Grill provides a top-tier dining experience that enhances visitor satisfaction.
Success in this role requires not only cooking proficiency but also strong organizational skills, the ability to work under pressure, and excellent communication capabilities. The ideal candidates will demonstrate a willingness to learn, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving within the kitchen and in conjunction with floor staff. Employees are also expected to engage with the public professionally, contributing to an atmosphere where guests feel welcomed and informed about the unique cultural and historical aspects of the region.
