Job Description

Ocean Restaurant, located within one of Long Island's most spectacular waterfront venues, offers guests an unparalleled dining experience surrounded by breathtaking views of the Atlantic waters meeting the Long Island Sound. This restaurant boasts a unique architectural design featuring artistic floating sculptures of fish chasing squid through the dining room, creating a memorable ambiance for diners. Known for its commitment to quality, the Ocean Restaurant provides not only an extraordinary visual setting but also an exceptional culinary journey, making it a premier dining destination in the region.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Seasonal Line Cook to join our vibrant culinary team. This full-time, part-time, seasonal, or temporary role is ideal for someone passionate about the food industry and who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced kitchen environment. The Line Cook will be instrumental in preparing and cooking menu items in accordance with established recipes and high standards of quality and presentation. This position involves close collaboration with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations, especially during peak service hours, resulting in an outstanding dining experience for our guests.

The role requires a keen eye for detail and excellent culinary skills, including proficiency in knife handling and other kitchen equipment. The ability to maintain kitchen cleanliness and adhere to food safety regulations is vital. Additionally, the Line Cook will assist with inventory monitoring and supply ordering, and contribute creative ideas toward menu planning and development, allowing for personal growth and professional development within the culinary arts. Shifts are varied and include 8, 10-hour, day, evening, and morning shifts, offering flexibility to accommodate different schedules. Compensation ranges from $17.00 to $23.00 per hour, reflecting the skills and experience of the candidate. This position is based in person at the restaurant's picturesque waterfront location. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in a food service or restaurant setting preferred
  • ability to work various shifts including mornings, evenings, and weekends

  • capacity to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food service or restaurant settings preferred

Job Duties
