The position available is for Kitchen Staff within the Operations department, located at one of Cinepolis’ theaters. This role is hourly and non-exempt, with a competitive base pay range of $15.50 to $19.50 per hour. Reporting directly to the Kitchen Manager, the Kitchen Staff will be responsible for ensuring that all food items meet stringent quality standards, prepared promptly and accurately per established recipes and guidelines. The kitchen team environment is fast-paced, requiring attention to detail, food safety compliance, and teamwork to deliver consistent, high-quality food service. Employees in this role are expected to maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhere strictly to food handling safety protocols, and work collaboratively with both coworkers and management. Job Requirements
- Must have at least one year of professional kitchen experience including dishwashing, prep, cook, and expediting
- Culinary training preferred
- If experience is lacking, can start as dishwasher or prep cook with career growth potential
- ServSafe certification preferred or required to complete training prior to line work
- Proficiency in kitchen operations
- Working knowledge of U.S. measurements
- Ability to follow safety instructions for chemicals
- Must work well with supervisors and co-workers with minimal supervision
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical activities like lifting and bending
- Good communication skills
- Ability to handle workplace stress
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus but not required
- Flexible working hours including holidays and weekends
Job Qualifications
- At least one year of professional kitchen experience including dishwashing, prep, cook, and expediting
- Culinary training preferred
- ServSafe training certification preferred or must complete training prior to going on the line
- Proficiency in kitchen operations and execution
- Working knowledge of U.S. measurements, weight, and volume
- Ability to follow instructions on safe use of chemicals and cleaning materials
- Ability to work effectively with supervisors and co-workers with minimal supervision
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage time efficiently
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to walk, lift, twist, bend, reach, and handle food frequently
- Good communication skills
- Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations positively
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus
- Flexible to work holidays and weekends
Job Duties
- Prepare menu items accurately and promptly when ordered through point of sale system
- Make items only ordered through point of sale system maintaining integrity
- Accommodate special requests with management approval to create positive guest experiences
- Prepare dishes according to recipes ensuring quality and consistency
- Cook menu items cooperatively to ensure simultaneous, high quality, and timely food service
- Remake items as instructed by supervisor or manager
- Adhere to food handlers safety guidelines including safe temperatures, proper labeling, cross contamination avoidance
- Maintain cleanliness by washing dishes and cleaning work areas during and after shifts
- Stock kitchen areas with dry products and prep materials, restock throughout and at end of shift
- Use FIFO system to keep food fresh and reduce waste
- Accurately maintain waste logs for discarded items
- Keep supervisor and kitchen manager informed of inventory levels
- Maintain positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
- Work safely using protective gear and asking for assistance with heavy items
- Lock and secure food and equipment
- Follow all opening, mid, and closing procedures
- Attend and participate in trainings and meetings
