Job Description
Molly Moon's Homemade Ice Cream is a beloved multi-generational ice cream company centered on happiness, sustainability, and community values. Dedicated to making the world a better place one scoop at a time, Molly Moon's shops serve as vibrant community hubs where families and friends gather to enjoy high-quality, locally sourced ice cream. The company prioritizes strong community partnerships, sustainable practices, and the use of the finest local ingredients to create its signature treats. With a passionate culinary and hospitality team at its core, Molly Moon's fosters an inclusive and diverse workplace culture that reflects its commitment to excellence and social responsibility.
The Seasonal Ice Cream Maker role at Molly Moon's is an hourly position offering 25+ hours a week, starting at $25.00 an hour, perfect for individuals looking for a fast-paced, rewarding summer job. This position involves producing large quantities of delicious ice cream and toppings that keep the scoop shops well stocked and customers delighted. The Ice Cream Maker works closely with the chef to plan daily production schedules, independently following recipes and managing high-volume batch production. It is a hands-on role that requires multitasking, attention to detail, and a passion for quality food production.
Successful candidates demonstrate the company’s core values—being smart, generous, homemade, joyful, and brave—and contribute positively to a work environment that values teamwork, inclusivity, and adaptability. The Ice Cream Maker position includes essential duties such as accurately measuring ingredients, preparing homemade bases and toppings, tasting batches for quality assurance, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. This role demands physical stamina including the ability to stand for long hours, lift heavy items repeatedly, and work in cold environments like freezers. Candidates must be flexible with scheduling, willing to occasionally work in other kitchens, and prepared to learn and uphold rigorous standards for sanitation and safety.
Molly Moon's offers competitive compensation with wage growth opportunities including annual cost-of-living adjustments and merit-based increases based on performance and hours worked. Employees also benefit from comprehensive health insurance for themselves and their children, paid sick and vacation time, 401k matching, childcare subsidies, transportation benefits, and more. New hires become eligible for benefits shortly after starting, supporting wellness and work-life balance. Working as an Ice Cream Maker at Molly Moon’s provides not just a job but an opportunity to be part of a mission-driven company that values quality craft, community connection, and environmental stewardship, all while creating joyful experiences one scoop at a time.
