Job Description
Molly Moon's Homemade Ice Cream is a beloved multi-generational ice cream shop known for its commitment to happiness, sustainability, and community. At the heart of their mission is the goal to make the world a better place one scoop at a time. Molly Moon's shops are not just places to enjoy delicious ice cream – they are vibrant community gathering spots that embody joy and a deep respect for the environment. Their dedication to quality is reflected in every scoop they serve, which is made from the finest local ingredients sourced through strong community partnerships. Sustainability and ethical sourcing are key pillars of their business, creating an authentic homemade experience for customers while supporting local farmers and businesses.
Molly Moon's is currently hiring Seasonal Ice Cream Makers, a vital role in ensuring that their shops remain well stocked with freshly crafted ice cream and toppings throughout the busy seasons. This hourly position offers 25 or more hours per week starting at $25.00 an hour, with opportunities for wage growth based on tenure and performance. Seasonal Ice Cream Makers collaborate closely with chefs and other team members, working in a fast-paced and energetic kitchen environment that requires efficiency, attention to detail, and a passion for quality.
The role involves planning and executing daily production schedules, following recipes with precision, and producing large volumes of ice cream and toppings that meet Molly Moon’s high standards for flavor and texture. Ice Cream Makers are responsible for measuring ingredients accurately, performing kitchen math, scaling recipes, and maintaining consistent quality with every batch. They also take on the preparation of homemade bases, toppings, and inclusions such as hot fudge, cookie dough, caramel sauces, and fruit compotes.
Safety, sanitation, and organization are paramount in this role, with the responsibility to keep the kitchen clean and comply with health guidelines throughout each shift. The Ice Cream Makers also monitor inventory levels, participate in monthly shop inventories when needed, and communicate effectively with peers, managers, and hospitality staff to ensure smooth operations.
Ideal candidates for this position take pride in their work and bring a positive, collaborative spirit to the team. Those who embody Molly Moon’s core values of being smart, generous, homemade, joyful, and brave will thrive in this inclusive and diverse workplace culture. The job is well suited for detail-oriented multitaskers who enjoy seeing the tangible results of their effort and appreciate working in a vibrant environment where quality and sustainability matter.
With a competitive starting wage, paid sick and safe time, vacation benefits, and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, Molly Moon’s provides a supportive and rewarding workplace. Employees also enjoy additional perks like subsidized childcare, transportation benefits, predictable schedules, and unlimited free ice cream scoops. Overall, this role offers a wonderful seasonal opportunity to be part of a company that values community, sustainability, and happiness as much as the delicious ice cream it creates.
