We are currently seeking a Seasonal Make-Up Artist to join our dynamic team of Ambassadors for the highly anticipated Howl-O-Scream event. This is a seasonal, hourly position with competitive pay of $19.00 per hour. The Make-Up Artist plays a crucial role in enhancing the guest experience by transforming performers into terrifying and captivating characters using theatrical and special effects makeup techniques. This role demands creativity, efficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain high-quality results within a fast-moving environment. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with leadership and fellow team members to uphold the approved makeup designs and hygiene standards to create a visually stunning and safe atmosphere.

As a Make-Up Artist at SeaWorld, you will apply makeup using sponge and brush techniques on 10-15 performers per shift, managing 20-minute application increments. Your responsibilities include delivering makeup supplies to venues for weekend preparations, maintaining cleanliness and sanitization of your workspace, and supporting costume department operations such as covering open positions and communicating changes effectively. Additionally, you will assist in learning costume-related skills and ensuring adherence to park safety and maintenance standards. The role requires standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, lifting or pushing up to 40 pounds, and working in environments with atmospheric effects like fog and smoke.

Candidates must be available full-time Thursday through Sunday from September to November, including Halloween night, which is a mandatory workday. Prior theatrical makeup experience is preferred, with knowledge of stage makeup and the ability to apply multiple pre-designed looks. A college degree in Theatre or a related discipline is preferred but not required. Candidates with cosmetology or esthetician experience, SFX makeup skills, wig experience, or costume knowledge will find additional value in this position. Developing a strong portfolio or having photo proof of work is required.
