The role available is for a Barista at Sonesta Nashville Airport, specifically within the Starbucks located inside the hotel. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about providing outstanding customer service and ensuring every guest experiences personalized attention. As a Barista, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving all Starbucks products, maintaining professionalism, and representing Sonesta’s brand values in every interaction. The position supports both full-time and part-time employment to accommodate different schedules.
Daily responsibilities include opening and closing the coffee shop, operating espresso machines and other equipment to prepare drinks and pastries according to customer requests and established procedures, and handling cash register operations accurately. The Barista must anticipate customer and store needs attentively to ensure a smooth and efficient service environment. Maintaining strict cleanliness in the coffee shop and proper storage standards for food items is essential, as is proactive communication with management regarding equipment maintenance or any other concerns that arise.
This role extends beyond just serving beverages; it entails creating memorable experiences for guests by being courteous, attentive, and demonstrating exceptional organizational and multitasking skills. Candidates must be capable of working efficiently without supervision while sustaining a high level of quality and performance. Standing and active mobility throughout shifts is required, underscoring the fast-paced nature of the role. Previous front-facing guest service experience, along with certifications like food handling and TIPS, is required, ensuring that the barista complies with health and safety regulations.

Job Duties
- Open and close the shop according to established policies and procedures
- operate an espresso machine and other shop equipment to prepare drinks and pastries per established procedures and customer requests
- anticipate customer and store needs by constantly evaluating the environment and customers for cues
- reconcile the cash register daily using daily sales report
- maintain appropriate standards of cleanliness in the shop and storage standards for food items
- communicate with the restaurant manager regarding all equipment maintenance concerns and non-equipment related issues or concerns
- perform all other duties as assigned
