Job Description

Pacific Hospitality Group is a reputable and family-focused hospitality company committed to delivering exceptional value to investors and team members through its owner/operator approach. By focusing on long-term holds, the company emphasizes sustainable growth and business expansion while fostering the development and success of its employees. With a vision centered on enriching people's lives, Pacific Hospitality Group is dedicated to creating memorable experiences for guests, contributing positively to communities, and honoring God in all its endeavors. As a hospitality group, it operates with core guiding principles such as integrity, compliance, value creation, principled entrepreneurship, customer focus, knowledge, change, humility, respect, and fulfillment. These principles serve as the foundation for its commitment to excellence and ethical business practices, positioning the company as a trusted name in the hotel and restaurant industry.

The role of a Host/Hostess at Pacific Hospitality Group is vital in ensuring a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all guests from the moment they arrive. The host is the first point of contact for guests, greeting them professionally and seating them promptly at their tables. The position requires multitasking abilities, as hosts manage guest waiting lists, record party information, provide accurate waiting time estimates, and accommodate special seating preferences when feasible. Keeping management informed about guest counts and wait times is an essential part of the responsibilities. Hosts also introduce guests to servers, oversee proper table settings and presentations, and check in with diners to ensure satisfaction throughout their dining experience.

Additional duties include adhering strictly to food safety, sanitation, and health guidelines to maintain a clean and safe environment. Hosts handle phone reservations, answer guest inquiries regarding menu options and hotel facilities, and remain aware of hotel events and VIP visits that may impact service. They provide support to service staff by running food, refilling beverages, and bussing tables if needed. Maintaining cleanliness at the hostess stand, checking restrooms, ensuring menus and wine lists are in good condition, and promptly reporting any maintenance or cleanliness issues are also part of the daily tasks. Hosts are empowered to resolve guest complaints within their authority or escalate issues to management, while notifying appropriate staff of any unusual incidents.

This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a commitment to excellent guest service and satisfaction. Prior customer service and cash handling experience are important qualifications. A positive attitude, professional demeanor, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities at once will help hosts succeed in this position. Familiarity with telephone and computer systems used within the hotel enhances efficiency. Pacific Hospitality Group values a diverse and inclusive workplace and offers equal employment opportunities to all applicants without discrimination. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to grow within a company devoted to long-term value and team member fulfillment.
