Job Description
Bear Tooth Theatrepub is a renowned restaurant and entertainment establishment known for its unique blend of high-quality dining and an engaging theatrepub experience. Located in Anchorage, Alaska, it combines a dynamic menu featuring a variety of delicious food and beverages with a vibrant entertainment atmosphere that attracts both locals and visitors alike. The venue is celebrated for its commitment to excellent customer service, innovative dining experiences, and a lively environment where guests can enjoy a meal while watching independent and cult classic films. Bear Tooth Theatrepub prides itself on fostering a welcoming and energetic atmosphere, blending culinary excellence with high-quality entertainment to ensure each patron's visit is memorable and enjoyable.
The Server position at Bear Tooth Theatrepub is a seasonal role designed for individuals passionate about creating outstanding customer experiences in a fast-paced, lively setting. The primary responsibility of the Server is to ensure every guest receives exceptional service that meets their unique needs from the moment they arrive until they complete their visit. This role involves welcoming guests warmly, taking accurate food and beverage orders, serving those orders promptly, and ensuring high standards of quality and presentation. Additionally, the Server processes payments efficiently and collaborates closely with fellow team members to maintain a smooth, coordinated workflow. This position requires a dedicated, customer-focused individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and is adept at juggling multiple tasks simultaneously.
As this is a seasonal position running through the summer until mid-September, applicants must have at least one year of restaurant experience and demonstrate open availability, including required weekend shifts. The Server must have a thorough knowledge of the menu, including food, drinks, and daily specials and be proficient with point-of-sale (POS) systems to handle orders accurately and efficiently. Safety, sanitation, and alcohol beverage control policies must be strictly adhered to, ensuring guests enjoy a safe and pleasant dining experience.
This position also demands physical stamina, as Servers will be standing for the duration of their shifts, working in noisy, fast-paced environments, and occasionally lifting and carrying weights over 30 pounds. Manual dexterity, coordination, and the ability to manage time effectively in a busy setting are essential for success in this role. Servers must be at least 21 years of age with a current TAPS Card and Municipality of Anchorage Food Worker Card. While prior serving or bartending experience is preferred, it is not mandatory, as the company values a passion for hospitality and a willingness to learn.
In addition to competitive compensation, Bear Tooth Theatrepub offers an array of valuable benefits to its employees to enhance their work-life balance and job satisfaction. These benefits include a profit share bonus program that offers staff bonuses when the business is profitable, comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans, and an employee assistance program supporting mental and emotional well-being. Employees can also benefit from a 401K retirement plan with free company matching, paid time off to recharge, and a meal and drink plan during shifts. Additional perks include free movie screenings at the Theatrepub itself, complimentary ski and snowboard lift passes at Alyeska, discounted memberships to the Alaska Rock Gym, lively employee parties, and exclusive merchandise discounts. These benefits reflect Bear Tooth Theatrepub's commitment to creating an enriching and rewarding workplace for its team members.
