This role is an hourly position paying $16.90, designed for individuals who thrive in dynamic, guest-facing environments within the hospitality sector. The position involves working as a beverage service professional, tasked with delivering exceptional customer experiences in the hotel's dining areas and bar service. Responsibilities include beverage recommendations, order processing, cash handling, and maintaining service standards in compliance with food safety and health regulations. The role requires attentiveness to guest needs, adherence to safety protocols including the use of Personal Protective Equipment, and the ability to handle complex situations such as managing intoxicated guests or resolving complaints. Candidates will be expected to perform shift side-work duties, restocking, and cleaning, ensuring that the service areas are welcoming and maintained to the highest standards.

This position is ideal for those with at least one year of cocktail or food service experience, preferably in hotel or resort settings. The candidate must possess basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, customer service etiquette, and hotel service standards while demonstrating strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Additional qualifications that enhance suitability include the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team. Required certifications include the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) and a valid Food Handlers Card or the willingness to obtain one within the first 30 days of employment. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Help guests select beverages by offering cocktails and aperitifs, describing wine, beers and spirits served and making recommendations
  • Provide bar food menu and answer food preparation questions
  • Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in a timely manner based on service expectations
  • Upsell food and beverage items to maximize profitability
  • Collect and input orders into POS system accurately and timely
  • Handle cash, charge, room and credit card transactions according to company policies and procedures
  • Maintain and balance cash bank including closing out
  • Maintain cleanliness of assigned service/bar area including waste disposal, table clearing and wiping
  • Follow all standard food handling, sanitation, TIPS and health department guidelines
  • Report to work as scheduled on time and regularly
  • Wear non-slip, oil-resistant shoes and follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Report potential safety issues to manager and take action in emergencies
  • Complete pre, running and post shift side-work requirements and restock as needed
  • Ensure minors and intoxicated persons are not served alcoholic beverages
  • Notify management of guest complaints, intoxication or disruptive behavior
  • Provide a high-level dining experience maintaining professional distance
  • Notify management of unsafe conditions, maintenance needs and accidents
  • Resolve guest complaints within authority scope or refer to management
  • Notify supervisor and/or Security of unusual events, missing items or theft
