As a part of a Fortune 150 company, Core-Mark has built a remarkable reputation founded on empowering its customers, employees, and communities. The company has successfully generated over $23 billion in revenue, reflecting its expansive reach and dominance across the U.S. and Canada. Through an extensive network of distribution centers, Core-Mark offers a comprehensive portfolio of products, programs, and solutions designed to meet the unique needs of its diverse clientele in the convenience retail sector. The company is committed to maintaining a safe and inclusive working environment where rewards, recognition, and respect are paramount, ensuring a positive culture for all employees. Competitive pay and benefits are a cornerstone of employee satisfaction at Core-Mark, including day one health and wellness benefits, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and numerous other perks. Core-Mark provides attractive growth opportunities within its operations, performing essential work that supports America’s complex and vital food distribution system.
The position of Delivery Driver at Core-Mark is a seasonal/temporary role, estimated for a duration of six months, subject to change based on operational business needs. While the employment term is fixed to the assignment period, there may be opportunities for seasonal employees to be considered for full-time roles, though such conversions are not guaranteed. This role offers a highly competitive pay rate of $30.50 per hour. Drivers receive compensation for every mile driven, stop made, and unloading performed, supporting a work hard, get paid well ethos. Night routes dispatch between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM, ensuring drivers are home daily.
In this role, Delivery Drivers play a critical function within the U.S. food supply chain. They ensure customers receive their products on time and in excellent condition, serving as the face of Core-Mark and fostering lasting relationships. Drivers operate tractor-trailers or straight trucks over various routes including intrastate, interstate, local, over-the-road, shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop tasks. They are responsible for safe and timely delivery and unloading of food and food-related products, strictly following Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. A key aspect of the position requires drivers to conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections of their vehicles and trailers, report any safety hazards or necessary repairs, and maintain accurate paperwork and logs per DOT, state, and company requirements. Customer interaction is a significant part of the job where drivers communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers to provide accurate and timely responses to queries.
Additional responsibilities include performing damage control checks on products, verifying deliveries with customers while securing proper signatures, collecting payments when applicable, and managing customer returns. Drivers must ensure the security of freight and equipment at all times and complete routine housekeeping of trailers and loading dock areas. This role demands physical capability to hand-lift, utilize equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates, handle products ranging typically from 10 to 35 pounds and sometimes up to 60 to 90 pounds. The Delivery Driver position at Core-Mark offers an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals who are committed to delivering essential goods safely, efficiently, and with outstanding service, contributing directly to the company's success in supporting America’s food distribution network.
