Job Description
IKEA is a renowned global company known for its range of affordable and stylish home furnishings, originating from Sweden. The company emphasizes sustainability, quality, and accessibility, aiming to make a positive impact worldwide by helping to create a better everyday life for many people. IKEA's unique culture thrives on diversity, inclusion, and respect for individuality, fostering a supportive work environment that values each co-worker's unique contributions. With a rich heritage rooted in Swedish design and innovation, IKEA has expanded its presence internationally, reaching millions of customers through both physical stores and digital platforms. The commitment to environmental care and social responsibility is integral to IKEA’s business, extending from product development to customer relations and community engagement.
This role is a part-time, temporary position based in South Philadelphia, within the Customer Relations department. The Seasonal Cashier and Customer Service Associate will work between 12 to 19 hours per week, primarily during nights and weekends, reflecting the retail environment's demands. The hourly pay rate for this position is $17.50, offering an opportunity to engage with customers at one of the world's leading home furnishing stores. This role is ideal for individuals who want to contribute to a positive retail experience by being the final touchpoint for customers, helping to build loyalty and ensure satisfaction.
The primary responsibilities include providing efficient and accurate checkout services across different areas of the store, offering additional products and services such as home delivery, credit cards, and IKEA Family memberships, and addressing customer concerns independently to meet their specific needs. Moreover, associates provide friendly and safe car loading and unloading services, enhancing the overall shopping experience. This role supports IKEA’s commitment to a welcoming and inclusive environment while focusing on risk management, data protection, compliance, and health and safety to protect everyone within the store ecosystem. The team behind this role prides itself on collaboration and foresight to maintain a safe and secure environment for customers, co-workers, and visitors alike.
While the opportunity is temporary and part-time without eligibility for some company benefits, IKEA does offer a comprehensive menu of perks and support options to eligible co-workers to promote work-life balance and wellbeing. These benefits include generous paid time off, paid parental leave, retirement and bonus plans, education assistance, telehealth services, and more. IKEA’s culture of growth, development, and fun creates an enjoyable workspace where associates are encouraged to be themselves while contributing to a larger mission. By joining IKEA, individuals not only start a better professional life but also become part of a global community committed to sustainability, diversity, and making a meaningful impact in the world.
