Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 months experience in cash handling and customer service
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English
  • Ability to multitask and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Capability to handle coins, writing utensils, and carry dishes
  • Physical ability to stand for entire shifts and lift up to 10 lbs
  • Ability to read written communication, computer screens, and see colors
  • Must be tactful and understanding during customer interactions
  • Willingness to maintain a professional and friendly demeanor during work hours

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience of at least 3 months in roles involving heavy cash handling and customer service
  • Knowledge of standard cash handling procedures and computerized cash registers
  • General understanding of restaurant operations and food service principles
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to manage stressful situations courteously
  • Basic mathematical aptitude at a high school graduate level

Job Duties

  • Meets arriving customers with cordial greeting
  • Escorts customers to assigned tables and issues menus
  • Solicits rapport to accommodate special needs or requests
  • Assigns sections and notifies servers of new seats
  • Maintains visible presence in restaurant and assists servers
  • Receives payment and processes transactions accurately
  • Verifies accuracy of guest checks including pricing and discounts
  • Ensures all charge vouchers are properly completed
  • Gathers customer feedback and reports to management
  • Distributes and accounts for all checks issued to servers
  • Counts daily revenues and alerts management to discrepancies
  • Balances and reconciles reports at shift end
  • Maintains cleanliness and attractiveness of restaurant
  • Checks proper table and seating setup prior to opening
  • Reports maintenance or housekeeping discrepancies
  • Exhibits professional appearance and courteous demeanor at all times
