Job Description
The Beauport Hotel is a distinguished hospitality establishment that prides itself on offering exceptional guest service and memorable experiences. Situated within the Beauport Hospitality Group, the hotel is dedicated to delivering outstanding customer care in a welcoming and professional environment. With 94 guest rooms, the hotel caters to a diverse clientele seeking comfort, convenience, and a touch of local charm. The Beauport Hospitality Group is recognized for its commitment to diversity and equal opportunity employment, fostering an inclusive workplace where all employees have the chance to thrive regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic by law.
The role of Bellperson/Shuttle Driver at the Beauport Hotel is a vital position that bridges the gap between excellent customer service and operational efficiency. This is a seasonal position, starting on or around May 1st, and requires availability on weekends and holidays. The position offers an hourly base wage of $15 plus tips, with total compensation typically ranging between $16 and $20 per hour, reflecting historical averages and seasonality. This opportunity is ideal for hospitality professionals who are passionate about guest service and thrive in dynamic, fast-paced hotel environments.
As a Bellperson/Shuttle Driver, you will be the first friendly face guests encounter, warmly greeting and welcoming them both at the hotel entrance and within restaurant areas. You will assist guests with transporting their luggage to and from the front desk and guest rooms, ensuring every arrival and departure is smooth and pleasant. Your responsibility extends beyond simple hospitality duties; you will also operate the hotel shuttle safely, providing local transportation for in-house guests within a three-mile radius. Maintaining the cleanliness and routine maintenance of the shuttle vehicle is also part of your role, ensuring comfort and safety for all passengers.
The position demands physical endurance, with duties requiring you to stand, walk, run, bend, stoop, and lift luggage weighing up to 30 pounds frequently throughout your shift. You will be working primarily at the hotel’s front door area, exposed to varying weather conditions including sun, heat, cold, and other changes. Flexibility is essential, as shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary to interact effectively with guests and team members.
Key responsibilities include opening doors for guests, managing luggage logistics, familiarizing guests with room amenities, assisting with local directions, and supporting the front desk with VIP arrivals. You will also collaborate closely with the Valet Team to ensure smooth traffic flow, maintain the appearance of the front door area, and complete special projects assigned by hotel management. Adherence to all hotel policies, attendance, attire standards, safety protocols, and emergency procedures is mandatory.
This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the guest experience by providing unparalleled courtesy and professionalism in a vibrant and supportive hotel environment. Joining the Beauport Hotel as a Bellperson/Shuttle Driver means becoming part of a dedicated team focused on exceeding guest expectations and upholding the hotel's reputation for quality hospitality.
