Job Description
Midtown is a prestigious and dynamic establishment renowned for its commitment to delivering an exceptional and memorable dining and hospitality experience. As a vibrant restaurant that attracts a diverse and discerning clientele, Midtown emphasizes not only quality food and beverages but also outstanding customer service. The establishment values friendliness, professionalism, and a collaborative work environment, making it a sought-after place to work for those passionate about the food and beverage industry. Midtown offers seasonal employment contracts running from May 1 to September 30, providing an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking meaningful and engaging work for the summer months. The position of a Seasonal Bartender at Midtown is designed for friendly, driven individuals who are dedicated to enhancing the overall restaurant experience through their expert bartending skills and warm, welcoming demeanor.
As a Seasonal Bartender at Midtown, you will play a crucial role in creating positive and lasting impressions for members and guests. This role calls for more than just technical skills in mixing drinks; it requires a genuine passion for hospitality, excellent interpersonal communication, and the ability to make guests feel a true sense of belonging. Your responsibilities will include greeting guests enthusiastically, listening attentively to understand their beverage preferences, making personalized drink recommendations, and ensuring their orders are served efficiently and with flair. The position demands a strong commitment to providing high levels of customer service, maintaining a clean and well-stocked bar area, and accurately handling financial transactions. Seasonal Bartenders are expected to be available for 28-40 hours per week, covering 3 to 5 shifts, including weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of Midtown’s busy and dynamic environment.
Working at Midtown means joining a team that values collaboration and mutual support. The food and beverage team works seamlessly with other departments such as fitness, racquet sports, and spa, offering a unique opportunity to become familiar with multiple facets of the business. The environment encourages stepping outside comfort zones to assist colleagues, ensuring collective success. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced settings and are eager to develop their skills while contributing to a vibrant and upscale community atmosphere. Compensation for the role is competitive, starting at $12.62 per hour plus tips, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Midtown also offers attractive employee benefits including membership privileges, health and dental insurance, and a 401k plan, reflecting their commitment to employee well-being and satisfaction.
Midtown seeks applicants who demonstrate a passion for food and restaurant operations, a guest-oriented and service-minded approach, and a team-first attitude encapsulated by a 'win together' work ethic. Essential skills include excellent communication, organizational ability, problem-solving, and the stamina to work long shifts on your feet. The role also requires candidates to have a Serv Safe Food Handlers Certificate and be able to pass a background check. Previous bartending experience, especially in cocktail-focused bar programs, and familiarity with Silverware POS systems are advantageous. Midtown is committed to inclusivity and equal opportunity employment and encourages applicants with transferrable skills and diverse backgrounds to apply. This role offers a meaningful chance to impact people’s lives positively by delivering exceptional hospitality experiences in one of the community’s most respected dining establishments.
