The Seasonal Barista role is a pivotal part of Aparium Hospitality Services' vibrant food and beverage team. Reporting to Food and Beverage Managers and collaborating seamlessly with servers, bartenders, chefs, and other team members, the Seasonal Barista is expected to uphold the company’s core values of People, Place, and Character. This position involves crafting exceptional coffee and tea beverages that start guests’ days off on a positive note and contribute to memorable experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in coffee and tea artistry, with attention to detail and a dedication to quality and consistency. Beyond beverage preparation, the Barista will engage with guests, sharing knowledge about coffee and enhancing each visit with thoughtful recommendations and warm, personalized service. The role extends to maintaining cleanliness and organization of the workspace, accurately handling cash and bank transactions, and supporting other facets of the food and beverage department as necessary. The position requires flexibility with scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and demands physical stamina to manage the duties of standing and walking throughout shifts, handling light lifting, and working safely in a sometimes fast-paced environment. Offering a base hourly wage of $19.29 with additional tipping opportunities shared through a tip pool, this Seasonal Barista position provides an excellent opportunity for candidates passionate about coffee culture, exceptional service, and working within an inclusive and supportive hospitality environment.

Job Requirements

  • Passion for the people, place and culture of our community, love of restaurants and guest service also required
  • Minimum of 1 (one) year experience as a barista in either a free-standing or hotel restaurant or cafe
  • Tips alcohol service certification and Safestaff certificate of completion, or ability to obtain such within 30 days of hire
  • Available to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends and holidays
  • Fluency in english both verbally and non-verbally
  • Ability to continuously stand and/or walk for the majority of a shift, including negotiating wet tile floor and steps
  • Fine motor coordination is needed to pour beverages, decorate cocktails and folding napkins
  • Ability to roll and/or carry tables and chairs when needed
  • Ability to lift and/or carry a 30 lb tray, crate or box
  • Ability to carry over shoulder occasionally
  • Utilize hand and elbow movements for polishing glassware, silver, setting up tables, shaking, pouring and mixing drinks
  • Excellent sight and balance needed for negotiating varied floor surfaces
  • Ability to handle lighted candles and hot fluids (coffee and tea)

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Uphold and role model the companys principles of people, place and character
  • Own all aspects of a cafe guests experience from beginning to end by extending a friendly greeting in an inviting environment, ensuring accurate and thorough order details, executing on requests in a friendly and timely manner, and ensuring satisfaction throughout and adjusting when necessary
  • Participate in daily line ups and quarterly all staff meetings to further develop ideas and objectives with the service team while simultaneously providing constructive feedback and strategizing to overcome and correct any previously missed opportunities
  • Work in an organized and clean fashion with the utmost respect for your guests, peers, equipment, and workspace to create lasting impressions and strong relationships with the team and our guests
  • Share your extensive knowledge of the coffee world with your guests, using your product knowledge to enhance a guest experience and offer relevant additions to their order
  • Ensure the products served are at peak quality, using recipes and accurate measures for consistency
  • Be responsible for ensuring your bank and money is accurately accounted for and turned in, and audited
